Class Reward

After a discussion as to what the children would like for their whole class reward.....they decided together to have a 'Pyjama Party', which involved eating lots of snacks, wearing their pyjamas, bringing in pillows, blankets and teddies, as well as watching a movie which they all voted for!

Such a fantastic way to reward themselves with all of their hard work!!

Tennis Tournament 07.07.17

We have all been taking part in a whole class tournament, as part of our final learning in P.E. The children absolutely loved this, as they have all told me how much they have enjoyed learning to play tennis, and now they really like the sport.

The children were in pairs, and we had 6 tennis courts set up on the bottom playground (brilliantly set up by our tennis equipment managers)

Here are some photos of the children playing the sport that they all love......the tournament is not yet finished, so results be will posted soon!

Definite preparation for some future Wimbledon champions :)

P.E. & Maths

What better way to continue our learning in Maths, by combining it with some P.E. activities.....

We all came up with a range of questions which were linked to P.E. and Maths. These were....

1) How long will it take to run the length of the playground?

2) How many baskets can you score in 2 minutes?

3) How far can you jump?

All of the children predicted what they would achieve.....which was very interesting, as all of the predictions were very sensible!

It was time to go out onto the bottom playground and finally test each of the questions. The children were put into 3 groups and we rotated around the different activities and ensured each group had some one who was the 'timer' and someone who confirmed the measurements. It was such fun, as the children were using a range of mathematical vocabulary, as well as working really well as a team, cheering each other on, and collating the results successfully.

Such a fantastic morning doing some Maths. We will publish the results in another blog.

Let there be glitter........

From finishing the painting last week, it was now time to add some sparkle to props for the show.....We discussed the importance of the glitter being 'strategically' placed so that we did not ruin the amazing painting!

We are all so excited to be getting closer and closer to the big day!!!
